In July 2025, the United States announced the "U.S.–EU Cooperation Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair and Balanced Trade". On 21 August 2025, the United States and the EU released the “Joint Statement on a United States-European Union Framework on an Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade”.
