In August 2025, the European Commission proposed a regulation to reduce customs duties and open tariff quotas for certain imports from the US. The proposal followed the publication of the "Framework on an Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade" with the US. In June 2026, the European Parliament and Council adopted the regulation.
