On 9 August 2022, the US Administration signed into law H.R. 4346 CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 extending several incentives to support the semiconductor manufacturing supply chain and advanced wireless communication technologies. The CHIPS and Science Act provides a total of USD 52.7 billion for American semiconductor research, development, manufacturing, and workforce development. A total of USD 39 billion of this budget is allocated for manufacturing incentives. The Act also includes USD 1.5 billion to promote wireless supply chains as well as a 25% investment tax credit for capital expenses for the manufacturing of semiconductors and related equipment.
