On 5 September 2014, Sri Lanka changed the Special Commodity Levy for certain products.
This levy is valid for three months. See related measures for previous changes.
The Special Commodity Levy is a composite duty on the product and no other tax, duty, cess etc. is applicable on the said product while the levy is valid.

Import tariff
It increased the Special Commodity Levy on sugar from Rs. 28 per kg. to Rs. 33 per kg.
