On 2 December 2014, the Sri Lanka Ministry of Co-operative and Internal Trade amended the Special Commodity Levy on certain products.
The Special Commodity Levy is a composite duty on the product and no other tax, duty, cess etc. is applicable on the said product while the levy is valid.

Other potatoes from Rs. 15 to Rs. 20 per kg.
Big Onions from Rs. 35 per kg to Rs. 50 per kg.

Import tariff
The levies were reduced on:
"Other - Green gram(Moong)" reduced from Rs. 70 to Rs. 40 per kg.
All types of sugar was reduced from Rs. 33 to Rs. 28 per kg.
