In June 2026, the US Department of the Treasury issued Iran General License X, authorising transactions related to the production, delivery, sale, and offloading of Iranian-origin crude oil, petrochemicals, and petroleum products until 21 August 2026. In July 2026, the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control announced the revocation of General License X, prohibiting new transactions relating to the production, delivery, and sale of Iranian crude oil and petroleum products.
