The Government of Brazil launched the 2013/2014 Agricultural and Livestock Plan allocating credits lines to farmers with lower interest rates than those set at the market.
In this edition, the total budget for allocated to credit lines for rural producers was BRL 136 billion (USD 63.5 billion). In comparison with the 2012/2013 plan, the budget for these credit lines has increased by 18.1%.
