In November 2025, the European Commission initiated an in-depth investigation into CRRC's involvement in the bid for the construction of the Lisbon railway line under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation. In April 2026, the European Commission conditionally cleared the bid, requiring the consortium to replace Portugal CRRC.
