Australia: Government increases Critical Minerals Facility budget to AUD 5.2 billion

In April 2025, the Australian Government, through the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, committed an AUD 1.2 billion (USD 782 million) investment in a Critical Minerals Strategic Reserve, in addition to its original budget of AUD 4 billion. In January 2026, the initiative became operational.
