In September 2025, the Philippines' Department of Agriculture approved the importation of 22'000 MT of specified frozen fish and fishery/aquatic products. In December 2025, the import quota was extended until 30 January 2026. In January 2026, the import quota was extended until 6 February 2026.

On 30 January 2026, the Department of Agriculture of the Philippines issued Department Circular No. 02 Series 2026, extending the 22'000 MT import quota until 6 February 2026.
