In September 2025, the Department of Agriculture of the Philippines approved the importation of 55'000 MT of frozen small pelagic fish and fishery/ aquatic products for wet markets from 1 October to 31 December 2025. In November 2025, the import quota was extended until 30 January 2026. In January 2026, the import quota was extended until 6 February 2026.
