Canada: Government announces additional measures to protect local steel and aluminum sector

In June 2025, Canada announced several policies aimed at protecting the steel and aluminium sector. The package includes existing counter-tariffs on steel and aluminium products and public procurement restrictions as well as new tariff rate quotas on steel products imported from non-free trade agreement partners.
