In February 2025, the government of Yukon announced the first phase of its response to U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods. Premier Pillai directed the Yukon Liquor Corporation to cease purchasing U.S. alcohol and began a review of territorial procurement policies to exclude U.S. companies.
