In May 2024, the South Korean government adopted a “Semiconductor Ecosystem Support Package” with state aid of up to KRW 26 trillion (USD 19 billion). With the package, the government aims "to take a more proactive action to establish Korea’s semiconductor supremacy amid the intensified battle in the global semiconductor industry."
