In March 2024, the United States initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of melamine from Germany, India, Japan, the Netherlands, Qatar, and Trinidad and Tobago. In January 2025, a definitive duty was imposed on imports from Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, and Trinidad and Tobago. The investigation is still in progress regarding imports originating from India and Qatar. In April 2025, a definitive duty was imposed on imports from India.
