In April 2020, the Italian authorities temporarily extended the scope of foreign investments subject to investment screening to the sectors listed in Article 4, paragraph 1 of Regulation (EU) 2019/452. The sectors covered include critical infrastructure in the area of transport, energy and communication as well as critical technologies and dual-use goods, critical supply inputs of materials and food supply and the financial sector.
