In October 2014, the European Commission approved a Greek state aid measure that introduces an interruptibility scheme compensating certain electricity consumers in exchange for them reducing their electricity consumption for a given period. The measure is in force for a period of three years from October 2014. In February 2018, the scheme was extended for an additional period of two years.
