On 10 March 2017, the South African authorities issued Notice 209 of 2017 announcing the approval of a new tax allowance for Siyanda Chrome Smelting Company (Pty) Ltd to manufacture ferrochrome alloy. This follows the application submitted by the company under the 12I Tax Allowance Programme.
