In December 2025, the European Union proposed the EU Biotech Act to strengthen the competitiveness of Europe’s biotechnology sector from research to production. The proposal establishes a framework to support strategic health biotechnology projects, improve access to capital, and reinforce EU research, development, and manufacturing capabilities.
