In November 2025, the South African Revenue Service updated the Prohibited and Restricted Imports and Exports list. This update notably exempted tariff code 4909 (Printed or illustrated postcards; printed cards bearing personal greetings, messages or announcements, whether or not illustrated, with or without envelopes or trimmings) from ITAC import permit control.
