In September 2025, the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) and the Brazilian Studies and Projects Financing Agency (Finep) selected 88 proposals for research, technological development, and innovation (R&D&I) centres in Brazil. The initial budget of BRL 3 billion for financial support was increased to BRL 8.9 billion.
