In August 2025, WAPCOS Limited, a Government of India undertaking, issued a tender for the revamping of trunk infrastructure facilities at the MEPZ Special Economic Zone in Chennai. The bidding process will apply the provisions of the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order 2017.
