In May 2025, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry in India, removed procedural restrictions applicable to the export of value-added leather products. This measure withdraws port restrictions and the mandatory requirement for testing and certification by the Central Leather Research Institute.
