In April 2025, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation signed a JPY 34.2 billion (USD 239.49 million) loan agreement with JFE Holdings Inc to finance the acquisition of shares in an Australian coal mine by this Japanese company and ensure stable coal imports to Japan.
