United States of America: Extension of definitive countervailing duties on imports of certain softwood lumber products from Canada

In December 2016, the United States initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of certain softwood lumber products from Canada. Notably, on the same day, an antidumping investigation on the subject good was initiated, see related state act. In April 2017, a provisional duty was imposed. In January 2018, a definitive duty was imposed. In December 2022, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in December 2023.
