In December 2020, the European Commission approved a budget extension of EUR 300 million (approx. USD 364 million) to a EUR 1.2 billion umbrella scheme to support businesses in the agricultural, forestry, fishery and aquaculture sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy (see related state act). The approved amendment also included the prolongation of the present scheme and the inclusion of new forms of aid.
