In December 2020, the European Commission approved an extension of EUR 1 billion (approx. USD 1.21 billion) to the EUR 9 billion umbrella scheme Regime Quadro, which consists of several financial support measures for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy (see related state act).
