In December 2020, the European Commission approved the prolongation and amendment of the state aid cases 56963, 57289 and 57937 for Italy. These amendments included, among others, the introduction of a EUR 5 billion grant scheme (approx. USD 6.1 billion) to support mid-cap companies and the extension of a subordination loan scheme for medium-sized companies.
