On 27 April 2017, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry issued Ministerial Decree no. 629/2017 imposing an export duty on fresh, chilled and frozen fish. It was extended for one year twice (on 24 August 2017 and 25 August 2018) without any changes in duty level and it was terminated on 3 January 2019.
