In June 2017, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of styrene from the Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei and the United States. In February 2018, a provisional duty was imposed. In June 2018, a definitive duty was imposed. In June 2023, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in June 2024.
