On 18 May 2017, the President of Nigeria signed an Executive Order 'On support for local contents in public procurement by the Federal Government'.
This Executive Order for the first time establishes that all Nigerian Ministries, Departments and Agencies are obliged to grant preferential treatment to local manufacturers when procuring goods and services.
