EC: Adjustment of tariff quotas on tomatoes, cucumbers, table grapes, apricots, cherries, peaches, including nectarines, and plums

On 30 April 2014, the European Commission implemented Regulation 443/2014, adjusting the trigger level for mandarins, clementines, artichokes, oranges, pears, lemons, apples and courgettes (initially regulated in Regulation 543/2011). The trigger level defines the preferential import tariff quota. Imports above the trigger level will be subject to additional duties. Therefore, an increase in the trigger level is seen as an indirect decrease in the import duties, while a decrease in the trigger level represents an augmentation in the import duties. The measure entered into force on 1 May 2014. Update On 27 October 2014, the EC amended the trigger levels for a number of fruits listed in this measure (cf. Related Measures). Despite the fact that not all trigger levels were changed, at least one fruit in each of the three four-digit HS codes was changed and therefore this measure is listed as no longer implemented.
