In June 2011, the United States initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells, whether or not assembled into modules from China. In December 2011, a provisional duty was imposed. In June 2012, a definitive duty was imposed. In May 2017, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in December 2017. In November 2022, a sunset review was initiated. In January 2023, the definitive duty was terminated.
