In May 2016, the United States initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of certain carbon and alloy steel cut-to-length plate from Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Rep. of Korea, South Africa, Chinese Taipei and Turkiye. Notably, on the same day, a countervailing investigation on the subject good was initiated, see related state act. In November 2016, a provisional duty was imposed on Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Rep. of Korea and Chinese Taipei. In September 2016, a provisional duty was imposed on Brazil, South Africa and Turkiye. In February 2017, a definitive duty was imposed on Brazil, South Africa and Turkiye. In March 2017, a definitive duty was imposed on China. In May 2017, a definitive duty was imposed on Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Rep. of Korea and Chinese Taipei. In December 2021, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duties were extended for a new period in February 2023, except for Brazil, for which the definitive duty was terminated in February 2023.
