On 4 July 2017, the Thai government implemented temporary measures to suspend various penalties regarding the Royal Decree on Managing the Work of Aliens until 1 January 2018. The Decree revokes two previous acts enacted in 2008 and 2016, and seeks to address foreign worker inflow issues covered under the two previous Acts.
