On 21 January 2014, Sri Lanka amended the import cess on certain items.
*the customs value considered for these purposes is the aggregate of the value determined for customs purposes and 10% of such value.

Cess was removed on import of films of thickness less than 0.30 mm for packaging of pharmaceuticals. It was earlier imposed at 15% of customs value* or Rs. 150/kg., whichever is higher.
