In December 2025, the Department of Agriculture of the Philippines imposed a PHP 120 per kilogram maximum suggested retail price (MSRP) on imported red and white onions. On 11 December 2025, the MSRP for red onions was increased to PHP 150 per kilogram, while the level of MSRP for white onions remained unchanged.
