In October 2025, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) of India announced an amendment to the export policy for chilled and frozen meat and meat products. This requires exporters to submit proof of remittance to the Meat Export Development Fund (MEDF) for the export of certain bovine meat products, effective from 29 October 2025.
