Vietnam: Government amends regulations on gold imports and exports by certain entities

In August 2025, the Government of Vietnam abolished the state monopoly on manufacturing gold bars and amended related regulations on gold imports and exports. Specifically, enterprises and commercial banks producing gold bars will be exempt from the ban on imports and exports of gold, subject to the newly introduced import and export licensing requirements and annual quotas.
