In August 2025, the Airports Authority of India announced a tender for the construction of a new domestic terminal building at Varanasi Airport, which incorporates provisions of the Public Procurement Policy (Preference to Make in India), 2017, by requiring minimum local content and providing a preference margin for domestic suppliers.
