Canada: Government announces Interim Reciprocal Procurement Policy

In July 2025, Canada implemented a new Interim Policy on Reciprocal Procurement aimed at protecting domestic businesses from unfair trade practices. Effective from 14 July 2025, this policy restricts suppliers from certain countries from participating in Canadian federal contracts unless they provide reciprocal access.
