In November 2024, the government of Japan announced an additional JPY 3.1 billion (USD 20.46 million) in financial grants in support of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project of JERA Co Ltd, bringing the total subsidy amount to JPY 26.6 billion (USD 175.58 million).
