In July 2024, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action provided financial grants to TotalEnergies Raffinerie Mitteldeutschland GmbH and Stadtwerke Leipzig GmbH to support climate-neutral utilisation of industrial district heating in Leuna and Leipzig.
