In March 2020, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced the introduction of the "Crisis-Related Guarantee scheme." In addition, it announced that it would expand the scope of the Safety Net Guarantee No. 5 scheme in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic by including 316 further industries.
