On 20 October 2022, the government of Dubai announced an increase in import duties on reinforcing steel and steel coils. On 20 January 2023, the duty increase was extended until 7 November 2023. On 3 April 2023, the duty increase was extended until 12 October 2025. On 9 October 2025, the duty increase was extended until 12 October 2026. On 5 November 2025, the duty increase was extended until 12 October 2028.
