In February 2010, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) approved USD 12.9 million in funding to Iniciativa Tecnologica Centro Oriental INC to expand the deployment of broadband infrastructure in Puerto Rico.
