In December 2009, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) approved USD 39.7 million in funding to Ion Holdco LLC to expand the deployment of broadband infrastructure in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont.
