In May 2013, the United States initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of prestressed concrete steel rail tie wire from China, Mexico and Thailand. In December 2013, a provisional duty was imposed for imports from China and Mexico. In May 2014, the United States terminated the investigation for imports from Thailand. In June 2014, a definitive duty was imposed on China and Mexico. In May 2019, a sunset review was initiated on China and Mexico. In June 2019, the sunset review was terminated on China and Mexico.
