In August 2011, the government of the United States initiated a sunset review on imports of silicomanganese from China, Brazil and Ukraine and the definitive duty was extended for imports from China and Ukraine for a new period in November 2012. In November 2012, the definitive duty was terminated for imports from Brazil. In October 2017, a sunset review was initiated for imports from China and Ukraine and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in December 2018. In November 2023, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in November 2024.
