In April 2017, the United States initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of carbon and alloy steel wire rod from Italy and Turkiye. The investigation is still in progress. In September 2017, a provisional duty was imposed. The investigation is still in progress. In May 2018, a definitive duty was imposed. In December 2022, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in August 2023.
